Farm Fun at Smallwood’s Harvest
Smallwood’s Harvest offers BIG family farm fun!
Roughly a couple hours east of Seattle, WA is the Bavarian village of Leavenworth. Most who are familiar with this tourist destination come for festivals like Maifest in the spring, Oktoberfest in the fall, and of course – the famous Christmas Lighting Festival during the month of December.
Just a few miles further east from Leavenworth, there’s a gem of a place that families with children will enjoy, especially when if you love farm animals! Smallwood’s Harvest is not your ordinary fruit stand. Yes, they have fruit … but they also have some kid-friendly attractions; it is almost like a miniature theme park!
PETTING ZOO
This is my kids’ favorite part of the Smallwood’s Harvest. You can purchase bags of corn from the store and feed all the farm animals.
COW TRAIN
Kids (and adults!) can hop into one of the cow cars for a spin around the farm.
OTHER THINGS TO DO AT SMALLWOOD’S HARVEST
The grounds also feature a duck pond, egg factory, sand box with trikes, swings, BBQ grills and picnic tables, horseshoe pits, and so much more.
You can purchase fresh produce from the fruit market or grab a latte from the on-site coffee stand.
In the fall they have a ball pit, apple slinging, gold panning, and a prop maze to go through. Don’t forget to pick out a pumpkin to take home!
If you are ever in the Leavenworth area with your family, be sure to take your children here. For a short drive, you get to make some special memories!
